A New Leaf, Surprise celebrate official opening of the West Valley Housing Center

Michael Hughes, CEO of A New Leaf said the phrase, “turning a new leaf” serves as a metaphor for what the organization hopes to help with for those needing housing assistance in the West Valley.

Hughes, who leads the nonprofit organization aimed at helping in-need individuals find employment and long-term housing, spoke to a crowd Oct. 20 for the official opening celebration of the West Valley Housing Assistance Center, 12779 W. Grand Ave., Surprise.

The center opened its doors to families July 17 and has already had one family move-out and successfully find long-term housing.
