Burglary south of Florence leads to shooting, search for suspects

Pinal County deputies are searching for two men they suspect were involved in a burglary early Wednesday morning south of Florence.

According to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were responding to a burglary in progress just before 3 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12,  on East Desert Hills Road.

The suspects attempted to leave the area as deputies approached and rammed two PCSO vehicles, authorities said, adding that a deputy fired at the suspects.

Burglary south of Florence leads to shooting, search for suspects

Pinal County deputies are searching for two men they suspect were involved in a burglary early Wednesday morning south of Florence.

According to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were responding to a burglary in progress just before 3 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12,  on East Desert Hills Road.

The suspects attempted to leave the area as deputies approached and rammed two PCSO vehicles, authorities said, adding that a deputy fired at the suspects.

The men fled on foot.

One suspect appears to be white with long curly hair and facial hair, wearing glasses, a dark cap and jeans, according to officials. The other appears to be a bald white man, wearing a long sleeve T-shirt with writing on the back and jeans.

They are considered armed and dangerous, PCSO officials said.

One person of interest is Michael Anthony, 61, according to PCSO.

Anyone with information is asked to call 520-866-5111 to report any suspicious activity, or 911 in an emergency.
