The 9/11 Healing Field will be open to visitors from Sept. 9 through Sept. 11. The event is put on by the Exchange Club of Tempe. The event was held virtually in 2020. The field includes a flag for each of the nearly 3,000 people who died in the terrorist attacks.
A 5K run will be held on Sept. 10 at 8 a.m. with a candlelight vigil set for Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. Parking will be available in downtown Tempe for all activities.

The healing field first came to Tempe in 2004 and has existed in some capacity ever since. This year will be the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
Volunteers are needed to put up and take down flags. Donations are also welcome for the free event.
