9/11 celebrations to be held at 3 Kyrene schools

Kyrene Traditional Academy's Tiger Pride band has a performance planned for invited service members on Sept. 11.

Celebrations will honor first responders and service members at several of Kyrene School District schools on Sept. 11.
All events will be held Monday, Sept. 11, taking place during the school day and by invitation only, according to a press release.
Celebrations to take place at:
Kyrene Traditional Academy from 7:45-8:15 a.m.

Kyrene Monte Vista Elementary School from 8-8:30 a.m.

C.I. Waggoner Elementary School from 8:30-9 a.m.
1050 E. Carver Rd., Tempe, AZ 85284
The Tiger Pride band at Kyrene Traditional Academy will perform for invited service members from all military branches, law enforcement and firefighters. The assembly will take place in the gym, the release detailed.
Kyrene Monte Vista Elementary School will hold an assembly to honor both staff and family members who have served or currently serve as first responders or military. Honored guests are invited to attend in uniform, and students and staff will wear red, white and blue.
C.I. Waggoner Elementary School students will mark their annual First Responder’s celebration by presenting patriotic artwork to Tempe firefighters and police officers, thanking them for their service during an outdoor assembly, according to the release.
