Dozens of police officers and Maricopa County deputies ended a fight Sunday afternoon that occurred during a youth soccer and football tournament at the Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa.
Approximately 100 people – players, parents and spectators – were involved in the fight that occurred just after 1 p.m. Jan. 18, authorities said.
“During a flag football game, approximately 10 players from each team began to fight,” Mesa police stated in a release. “The fight then escalated as parents and spectators got involved.”
