Boxing, family and community will intersect this weekend at one of the Valley’s old school gyms.
Rodriguez Boxing Club will host an open house from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 11, inside its home in the Grand Avenue Arts District near downtown Phoenix. There will be plenty of instruction going on, stopwatches to time kids hitting the bags, and even some sparring inside the ring.
Add in free food and free Gatorade during workouts, and what is a special open house day in the gym at the corner of Grand and Roosevelt is not much different from what goes on every other day in the family-owned venue.
