Although the Arizona Cardinals didn’t have the year on the field they were hoping for, schools across the state got support for every touchdown scored, including six Glendale schools.
For the fourth year, Salt River Project partnered with Cardinals Charities for the Touchdowns for Teachers program, which awarded grants to two deserving teachers every time the Cardinals scored a touchdown. SRP provides more than $200,000 annually in direct classroom funding for teachers in its service territory through grant programs.
This year, 74 teachers won $500 for every Cardinals touchdown. In total, the Cardinals scored 37 touchdowns this season, which means a total of $37,000 in teacher grants.
The Glendale schools to earn grants are Bicentennial South Elementary, 7240 W. Colter St.; Copper Canyon High, 9126 W. Camelback Road; Desert Palms Elementary, 11441 N. 55th Ave.; Glendale High, 6216 W. Glendale Ave.; Legacy Traditional, 13901 N. 67th Ave.; and Washington Elementary, 4650 W. Sweetwater Ave.
