A 5K benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona open to the public is coming to the West Valley.
All ages and abilities are welcome in the Miles for Mentorship 5K, which goes from 6 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 at State Farm Stadium, 1 Cardinal Way in Glendale. The day will feature event shirts and 5K medals, and cheer and music zones along the route.
Following the 5K, participants and spectators can take part in the event festival, which includes food trucks, vendors, music, and activities all on the South Lawn of State Farm Stadium.

A 5K benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona open to the public is coming to the West Valley.
All ages and abilities are welcome in the Miles for Mentorship 5K, which goes from 6 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 at State Farm Stadium, 1 Cardinal Way in Glendale. The day will feature event shirts and 5K medals, and cheer and music zones along the route.
Following the 5K, participants and spectators can take part in the event festival, which includes food trucks, vendors, music, and activities all on the South Lawn of State Farm Stadium.
The 5K age groups are 11 & under, 12-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over.
Full schedule:
5:30 a.m.: Parking open for runners and guests
6 a.m.: Packet pick-up/registration opens, South Lawn open for warming up.
6 a.m.: DJ begins music on South Lawn, food trucks and vendors open
7 a.m.: 5K Race begins
8 a.m.: 1-mile fun run begins
9:30 a.m.: 5K Awards (1st in each age group, 1st-3rd overall)
All 5K participants will receive a medal at the finish line, and all 1-mile participants will receive a ribbon.
For 70 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona has made meaningful, professionally supported matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and youth (“Littles “) aged 6 through 18.
Admission is $39 for adults to run and $19 for children (ages 7-16). Cost for adults in the 1-mile fun run or walk is $29 and $15 for kids.
