5G: Paranoia, rhetoric or super-fast wireless?

Scottsdale residents join in on global 5G outcry

While Chris Rock’s new commercial showing off 5G wireless seems to be running on every channel and streaming service right now, consumer concerns on the other side of the screen are permeating Scottsdale City Hall.

City of Scottsdale has received ongoing correspondence and concern from residents regarding 5G wireless — so much so that City Council added a conversation about the next generation service to their meeting earlier this fall.

The Planning and Development Services Department received about 20 comments from Scottsdale residents on this topic, spokesman Kelly Corsette said of the council’s September meeting. Concerns were generally about quantity and locations of new wireless facilities, as well as rumored health impacts of 5G.
