5 in city of Apache Junction government paid $140K-plus

Records reveal top 25 highest-paid workers

Five city of Apache Junction employees are paid more than $140,000 a year, with none of them among the top 25 highest paid government workers in the Phoenix metro.

Apache Junction City Manager Bryant Powell is paid $165,569.46 annually, receiving less than Mesa City Manager Christopher Brady, $271,086.40; Scottsdale City Manager James Thompson, $278,907.20; and Phoenix City Manager Edward Zuercher, $314,999.36, according to public records.

Prior to coming to the city of Apache Junction, Bryant worked as a senior budget analyst for the city of San Antonio. Before that, he worked as a management intern with the city manager’s offices in Cedar City, Utah; Orem, Utah; and Orange, California.
