5 Deer Valley Unified students qualify as Merit Scholars

4 from Mountain Ridge among those honored

Five Deer Valley Unified School District students, four from Mountain Ridge High School alone, are National Merit Scholarship finalists.

The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and college scholarships. Semifinalists are the highest-scoring program entrants in each state and represent the top 0.5 percent of the state’s senior students, and finalists receive $2,500 scholarships.

Mountain Ridge’s Paarth Batra, Aiden John Bowers, Cayden M. Nicholls and Monali S. Shah are finalists, as is William (Quinn) Robinson IV of Boulder Creek High School.
