5 candidates interested in 3 Peoria council seats

Mesquite District appears to be competitive this year

The city of Peoria is gearing up for an election to fill city council seats of three districts, and a handful of candidates have filed statements of interest to run.

The terms for council members in the Ironwood, Mesquite and Willow districts expire January 2025, so a primary election will be conducted to fill the upcoming vacancies.

The primary election will be July 30, and if needed, a run-off will be on the Nov. 5 general election.
