40 years of West Valley history captured in new photo exhibit

The West Valley Arts Council and Peoria Center for the Performing Arts are presenting “West Valley Retrospective,” a photography exhibition by photojournalist Jim Painter, running through July 26 at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts, 10580 N. 83rd Drive.

For more than 40 years, Jim Painter has documented the people and places that have shaped the West Valley. Featuring a collection of black-and-white photographs, he has chronicled the region's evolution from vast agricultural landscapes into the thriving communities of today. “West Valley Retrospective” offers visitors a chance to experience that transformation through the eyes of someone who has been there to capture it all.

The West Valley Arts Council has operated for more than 50 years, organizing exhibitions, performances, education programs, and public art projects in Arizona's West Valley. More information is available at westvalleyarts.org.
