A small-lot single-family development of 38 two-story detached homes in a gated community is to be constructed west of Gilbert Road on the north side of McKellips Road in Mesa.
The Mesa Planning and Zoning Board on Nov. 17 voted unanimously in a consent agenda to recommend the council approve a preliminary plat and rezoning of 5.2 acres from agricultural and limited commercial to small-lot single residence with a planned-area development overlay. Board member Benjamin Ayers was absent from the meeting.
The property was a former plant nursery that has been vacant for several years, Planner Cassidy Welch said during a study session prior to the meeting.
