Regarding “Business Pipeline Speeds up Along Loop 303” in the May Litchfield Park/Goodyear Independent, I have some definite concerns on all this development and think we need to take a step back and address other issues such as quality of life for one.
The 303 surrounds multiple communities, Pebble Creek in Goodyear being one of them. As more and more warehouses are approved along the highway, there is a most definite increase in traffic noise.
I’ve been going through all the means at my disposal to find out who/what can abate this noise nuisance to no avail. I’ve spoken at a Goodyear Council meeting where I did get some great historical information but was advised to contact ADOT which I’d already done in the past.

What I’ve learned is that a noise study was done — in 2010 mind you — and the only necessary requirement before the builder built out his planned units in our development was that he make the walls a couple of inches thicker. No height mandate since the traffic noise at the time was non-existent and I don’t think anyone anticipated the boom that has occurred post-Covid.
I was advised to speak to the builder and/or HOA. Their response has been that they’ve done what the ADOT required at the time and will do no more.
I’ve sent letters to my taxpayer funded state representatives and so far have only received the standard “your concerns are important to me and I’ll be looking into that...” responses as well as unwanted automatic emails from their offices that are basically spam.
It’s very frustrating that this noise continues to increase at an alarming rate and there are no requirements made of the warehouse builders to help mitigate the disruption to our quality of life. Why can’t Goodyear demand that new warehouse builders chip into a fund that will then build traffic noise walls? That seems like the simplest solution.
