3 fire chief candidate finalists to be interviewed in March

One employed and two retired fire officials are finalists for a new Superstition Fire and Medical District chief and are to tour local facilities and be interviewed in March.

“The Superstition Fire and Medical District Board of Directors and the selection committee conducted six fire chief interviews on Thursday and Friday of last week. All candidates brought unique aspects to their interviews,” SFMD Board Chairwoman Kathleen Chamberlain said at a meeting Feb. 17.

Based on their performance in the first round of interviews, the top three candidates have been asked to tour fire stations Thursday, March 4, with Director Todd House, Clerk Jeff Cross, and union president SFMD Capt. John Walka; and be interviewed by board members Monday, March 8.
