A 2,257,581-square-foot data center development with seven two-story buildings is planned on 170 acres at the northeast corner of East Pecos Road and the South Crismon Road alignment in Mesa.
The Mesa Planning and Zoning Board on May 13 voted 4-0 to recommend the city council approve a use permit, major site plan modification and rezoning of land from light industrial with a planned-area development overlay to light industrial with a new planned area development overlay. Absent were Boardmembers Genessee Montes, Jamie Blakeman and Chase Farnsworth.
A condition was added that states, “Prior to the submittal of a building permit, submit to the planning director a revised landscape plan using drought-tolerant plants recommended by the Arizona Nursery Association or the Arizona Department of Water Resources, and more event distribution of plant material on Pecos Road as determined by the planning director,” Planner Evan Balmer told the board prior to the vote.
