$26K air rifle scoring system purchased for NJROTC

US Navy to reimburse Apache Junction school district

A more than $26,000 air-rifle electronic scoring target system has been purchased for Apache Junction High School’s NJROTC program.

The Apache Junction Unified School District governing board voted unanimously June 8 to approve the purchase of the $26,300 system from Shooter’s Technology LLC in Manassas, Virginia, for the Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps program.

“This is the agreement that we have with the Navy. We’re going to purchase the air rifle scoring system in the amount of $26,300 and then the Navy will reimburse us for that purchase amount,” said Heather Wallace, AJUSD’s executive director of educational services, who later in the meeting was named interim superintendent.
