250-acre business park planned in Laveen

A 250-acre business park is headed to Laveen along Dobbins Road west of Loop 202 after a Phoenix planning committee approved two zoning changes for the project this month.

Monday, Aug. 9, the Laveen Village Planning Committee approved a rezone and general plan change to green light the Dobbins Industrial and Tech Park. Adam Baugh, a lawyer with Withey Morris representing Indianapolis-based developer Scannell Properties, said the development team had a user in mind for the park but the deal fell through. However, Baugh said conversations with city staff made the development team confident to build on speculation.

“What we were originally intending this to be created for has passed, but city of Phoenix Economic Development believes that there will be more users who want to come to this area, and so we are continuing forward,” Baugh said during this month's meeting.
