24-child Copa Health residential facility planned in Mesa

Copa Health plans to use a vacant building west of Country Club Drive and north of Baseline Road in Mesa as a children’s behavioral health residential facility.

The Mesa Planning and Zoning Board on Feb. 22 voted unanimously in a consent agenda with other items to recommend that the City Council approve a site plan review and council use permit for the development and rezoning 2 acres from light industrial with a bonus intensity zone overlay to general commercial with a bonus intensity zone overlay.

A council use permit is required for social service facilities in the general commercial zoning district, Planner Charlotte Bridges said at a study session prior to the meeting.
