$20M earmarked for Mesa bicycle, walking paths

Residents prefer off-street lanes, connections to parks and shopping

Mesa pedestrians and bicyclists recently surveyed want more off-street paths and on-street separated bike lanes and are OK with not adding benches and other amenities in favor of more miles of designated routes. They also want better connections to parks, recreation areas, restaurants and shopping in the city.

Survey results are being used to find ways to spend $20 million to enhance Mesa’s bicycle and pedestrian network.

Mesa voters on Nov 3, 2020, authorized the city to issue $100 million in general obligation bonds to fund transportation projects.
