The numbers, overall, are not stacked in Mountain Ridge’s favor. While more players are starting to join the program, this is mostly at the lower levels.
So many of the better varsity players will do some double duty. For example, senior Alexis Sanchez is a natural interior offensive lineman while brother Andy Sanchez stands out a defensive tackle.
But both will need to rotate in on the other side of the ball at times. Along both lines the smaller number of players could actually work in the team’s favor thanks to these numbers — junior tackle Alex Doost (6-6, 300), senior tackle Kaeden Hicks (6-4, 269), center Alex Sanchez (6-3, 305) and Andy Sanchez (6-2, 270).
