Special to Independent Newsmedia
Buckeye Police are looking for a suspect who shot two teens Thursday afternoon.
Department officials said just after noon reports came in of shots fired in the area of 253rd and Long avenues. While responding to the scene, officers learned two male teens had arrived at a nearby fire station with gunshot wounds to their legs.
The victims, identified as a 16-year-old male and 17-year-old male, were transported to a nearby hospital where they are receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators learned the victims arrived in a car with two additional occupants who remained on scene. Police say they told investigators they were driving in the neighborhood near 253rd and Long avenues when the gunfire happened.
They did not provide any information on a suspect.
Police have located multiple spent shell casings at the scene and are working to develop information that can help identify and locate a suspect.
Anyone with information is urged to call Buckeye police or visit www.buckeyeaz.gov/crimetip where they can submit a tip and remain anonymous.
