Amid search warrant 2 Peoria Unified board members abstain from voting on annual budget

The Peoria Unified governing board approved its 2027 fiscal year budget, 3-2, with board members Janelle Bowles and Heather Rooks abstaining.

The division came amid a search warrant executed by the Peoria Police that continues to keep the Peoria Unified administration center cordoned off as police work an investigation related to teachers Haley Beck and Angela Burlaka.
