There will be two opportunities to donate much-needed blood in Glendale this Saturday.

The efforts are part of Vitalant’s “Summer Drives to Save Lives.”

“We have a critical blood shortage and need all blood donors of all blood types,” Vitalant shared in a statement.

All donors who give blood through Sept. 9 will be automatically entered to win a 2022 VW Taos S, donated by Valley Volkswagen dealers, and will receive a free summer blood donor T-shirt.

Appointments are recommended, and donors are able to give blood regardless of vaccination status.

A donation center will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 18 inside the Firestorm Recreation Center’s auditorium on the campus of Arizona Christian University, 14711 N. 59th Ave.

Also on Saturday, the community room inside Arrowhead Towne Center, 7700 W. Arrowhead Towne Center, will be open for donations from 11:15 a.m. through 3:30 p.m.

Donating is always possible at the Vitalant Donation Center in Glendale at 18583 N. 59th Ave.
