2-day celebration of Mexican culture, art returning to Phoenix

Spirits of Mexico Festival to showcase the state of Nayarit, Mexico

The thousand miles between Phoenix and the Mexican state of Nayarit shrinks considerably next month, bringing Pacific coastline culture and heritage to the desert.

In its third year, the Spirits of Mexico Festival returns to downtown the weekend of March 22-23. The annual event spotlights a different Mexican state each year, and in 2025 the focus turns to Nayarit, long celebrated for its lush landscape and Indigenous culture.

Though the weekend will feature spirits and cuisine native to Nayarit and its surroundings, along with music and workshops, there’s a sense of community at the foundation of the festival and its Arizona-Mexico fellowship.
