Two Apache Junction residents from a slate of 15 candidates were appointed Tuesday to replace City Council members who left to run for other elected offices.
Peter Heck, who has lived in Apache Junction for 11 years, was appointed in a unanimous vote May 17 to serve until Jan. 7, 2025.
Bambi Johnson, who has lived in Apache Junction for 22 years, was appointed in a 3-2 vote to serve until the position is filled at the next regularly scheduled election or until Jan. 7, 2025. Vice Mayor Christa Rizzi and Councilmember Robert Schroeder dissented.
