NWS extends 121-degree heat warning through Aug. 3 for Maricopa, Pinal counties

The National Weather Service on Friday updated its extereme heat warning for  Maricopa and Pinal counties, extending the chance for 121-degree temperatures through Monday.

The initial warning was set to expire on Sunday, Aug. 2.
