$11.7 billion Phoenix budget focuses on homelessness, staffing, airport projects

Highlights of Phoenix’s $11.7 billion budget for the upcoming fiscal year include an increased effort to address homelessness, funding big construction projects at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, a new fire station in Ahwatukee and filling staff vacancies.

Phoenix City Council last week tentatively approved the city’s $6.9 billion operating budget, $2.6 billion capital budget and $2.2 billion reappropriations budget for the upcoming fiscal year, which starts July 1.

Final budget adoptions will take place during the council’s next meeting on Wednesday, June 14. The city’s property tax levy adoption will be Monday, July 3.
