11-month investigation leads to Phoenix homicide arrest

Phoenix police detectives have arrested a 66-year-old man in the June 2024 death of Beverly Halbach.

After nearly a yearlong investigation Timothy Stroble has been booked into Maricopa County jail on first-degree murder and kidnapping charges.

Just before 1 p.m. June 13, Phoenix police officers responded to a house in the area of 20000 North 35th Street to investigate the death of Halbach, 69. Officers “identified suspicious circumstances surrounding Halbach’s death,” according the a Phoenix Police Department release.

Phoenix police detectives have arrested a 66-year-old man in the June 2024 death of Beverly Halbach.

After nearly a yearlong investigation Timothy Stroble has been booked into Maricopa County jail on first-degree murder and kidnapping charges.

Just before 1 p.m. June 13, Phoenix police officers responded to a house in the area of 20000 North 35th Street to investigate the death of Halbach, 69. Officers “identified suspicious circumstances surrounding Halbach’s death,” according the a Phoenix Police Department release.

Detectives took over the investigation in conjunction with Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office. The medical examiner ruled Halbach’s death a homicide, the release stated.

Investigators worked for the next  11 months to collect evidence, leading to the arrest of Stroble, who was booked on May 13.
