Phoenix police detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that left one man dead and another hospitalized.

The shooting occurred shortly after 3:23 p.m. May 24 near 22nd Avenue and Thunderbird Road.

Phoenix police officers found 27-year-old Michael Tusa under the Thunderbird Road underpass suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Another man also was shot, according to a Phoenix Police Department release.

Tusa died at the scene, and the other victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said.

The suspects involved left the area prior to homicide detectives arriving, police said.
