Queen Creek schools and students are big winners

National nonprofit, AdoptAClassroom.org, partners with businesses across the country to recognize educators and schools.

Burlington Coat Factory just opened in Queen Creek and it partnered with AdoptAClassroom.org to make a donation to Queen Creek Elementary.

QCE Principal Elyse Torbert and fourth-grade QCE teacher Chris Breyfogle accepted the donation at a grand-opening event for the store.

Last month, Queen Creek High Culinary Arts 1 students participated in the C-CAP/Impossible Foods Plate to Planet Recipe Challenge. QCHS had 34 student teams create 34 unique recipes using Impossible Burger.

Students Sara Bohart, Logan Ott, and Isabella Piriz have been chosen as finalists with their recipe for "Impossible Musubi." Finalist submissions will be evaluated by national judges and winners of the challenge will be announced Earth Day, April 22.

Congratulations Mylie Stones and Mack Molander. Both Eastmark High School athletes won their division in the javelin event at the Nike Chandler Rotary Track & Field Invitational.
