Queen Creek Olive Mill scores international award

The Queen Creek Olive Mill has taken home a prestigious award.

Arizona’s only producer of extra virgin olive oil won the Silver Award for its Estate Extra Virgin Olive Oil at the 2024 New York International Olive Oil Competition this month.

The competition draws entries from all over the world. This is the third time the Queen Creek Olive Mill has been recognized by the New York International Olive Oil Competition for its premium extra virgin olive oil.

The mill won the Gold Award in 2017 and the Silver Award in 2019 for its Balanced Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

“We are so incredibly proud to have produced one of the world's best olive oils recognized in the New York International Olive Oil Competition,” stated John Rea, president of the Queen Creek Olive Mill, in a press release. “Our Estate Extra Virgin Olive Oil is made solely from our olives grown on our farm in Queen Creek and this year we had a wonderful harvest. We are looking forward to another great harvest and milling season to come this year.”

The Estate Extra Virgin Olive Oil is created from a selection of Arbosana and Koroneiki olives harvested at the Queen Creek Olive Mill during the 2023 season. The mill  produces on average 3 tons per acre for a total of 2,547 liters of the oil. The Estate Extra Virgin Olive Oil is in its second year of production.

In addition to being produced and sold at the Queen Creek Olive Mill at 25062 S. Meridian Road, products can also be purchased at the Marketplace at Kierland Commons in Scottsdale, online and across the Valley at grocers including AJ’s Fine Foods and Sprouts Famers Market.
