Queen Creek offers Community Emergency Response Team training

Posted

Queen Creek residents are encouraged to join the town’s Community Emergency Response Team.

CERT is a program offered through the Queen Creek Fire & Medical Department that educates volunteers about emergency preparedness, a town press release stated.

The program focuses on hazards that are most likely to affect the area and provides basic training for disaster response for fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and more.

The CERT program is a 20-hour course that is provided over a four-week period. Classes are typically held on Thursday evenings, with two classes held on Saturdays.

The class is limited to 25 attendees and participants must be Queen Creek residents or live within the Queen Creek County Island Fire District.
