The Queen Creek Town Council has approved the final plat for phase 2 of the Vineyard Towne Center shopping center.
The approval came at the council’s Wednesday meeting. The item was part of the council’s consent agenda, which is approved or rejected with one vote unless a council member or member of the public asks that an item be removed for a separate discussion or vote.
Vineyard Towne Center owner and developer Vestar requested the final plat approval for the center at the northwest corner of Gantzel and Combs roads.
The center offers a mix of shops, services and restaurants and is being built over two phases, according to a press release from Vestar.
The first phase of the Vineyard Towne Center opened in August in conjunction with the debut of the town’s new Sprouts Farmers Market. Sprouts is the phase 1 anchor tenant at Vineyard Towne Center. Phase 2 will be anchored by Target, which is set to open in April 2025.
The overall project will have direct access from three driveways on Gantzel Road and two driveways on Combs Road, a staff report stated.
“The project’s remaining offsite improvements will be constructed with the onsite improvements,” the report stated. “The owner (Vestar Vineyard Towne Center LLC) will complete offsite improvements that will require future maintenance costs by the town.”
Queen Creek will receive building permit fees for all the buildings and tenant improvements that develop within the center, the report stated.
