Queen Creek Chamber hosts post high school prep seminar for students

Getting students ready for life after high school is the focus of an event being hosted by the Queen Creek Chamber of Commerce.
The Elevate for Tomorrow, a half-day seminar, takes place Jan. 7 at the Arizona State University Polytechnic Campus.
The seminar brings together local business leaders and educators to help juniors at Queen Creek High School and other area schools plan for their college and career path after graduation.
This year’s opening session features three business leaders who will share their journey to success, including Mark Mitchell, former Tempe mayor and director of business development at Adolfson & Peterson Construction.
In addition to the opening session, the E4T offers students:
Breakout workshops featuring eight topics, including campus life, interview skills, resume building and planning for life after high school.
A college and career fair with 48 business partners and college recruiters.
The Queen Creek Chamber of Commerce believes educating and preparing the town’s youth for the workplace is an important task. With help from local businesses, educators and volunteers, the chamber gives students an opportunity to build skills and gain understanding by taking part in the annual E4T program.
