PCSO identifies teen fatally injured in San Tan Valley

Posted

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office has identified the 16-year-old boy who was fatally injured after being hit by a vehicle in San Tan Valley last week.

Logan Almodova was found severely injured on Oct. 1 on Murray Grey Drive near Empire Boulevard and Gary Road. He was airlifted to a hospital where he died of his injuries on Oct. 2.

PCSO has confirmed that Almodova was struck by a car.

Detectives investigated and questioned three boys, all of whom were released as the investigation continues. All of those involved knew each other, officials said.

No arrests have been made in the case.

Detectives are still following investigative leads and are asking that anyone with information call 520-866-5111 and ask for Det. Ramon Gonzalez.

A Go Fund Me page with a goal of raising $22,000 to cover the costs of funeral services has been created. So far, almost $16,000 has been raised. The page was started by family friend Jess Bynum.

“Jess created this fundraiser because Megan (Almodova), Armando, and their son Cameron are deeply loved, and no family should have to carry this kind of heartbreak alone,” the Go Fund Me page stated. “They are the kind of people who are always there to help anyone in need, and now they need their community to surround them with that same care and support during this unimaginable time.”
