New Target in the works for Queen Creek

Queen Creek’s second Target will be anchoring Vineyard Towne Center, which is currently under construction.

Target will be joining a 23,000-square-foot Sprouts Farmers Market as the center’s second anchor.

Vineyard Towne Center is located at the northwest corner of Gantzel and Combs roads.

Sprouts is set to open in July and Target’s opening is scheduled for spring 2025, according to a press release.

“Vestar is thrilled to welcome Target to the growing roster of leading retailers coming to Vineyard Towne Center,” Jeff Axtell, executive vice president of development for Vestar, stated in the release. “With Target and Sprouts, we’re confident this commercial center will become a top shopping destination for the booming Queen Creek community.”

In 2021, Vestar announced the development of the Vineyard Towne Center, a 260,000-square-foot open-air retail area. It is being built in two phases, with the first phase scheduled to be completed this summer.

The 23-acre site will feature a mix of shops, services and restaurants such as Chunk Cookies, Couture Nail Bar, European Wax Center, MOD Pizza, Mountain America Credit Union, Mr. Pickles, Nekter Juice Bar, Ono Hawaiian BBQ, Pacific Dental and Raising Cane’s.

Along with Vineyard Towne Center, Vestar also announced in 2021 that it was developing Queen Creek Crossing and The Shops at Lake Pleasant in Peoria for a total of more than 650,000 square feet of retail space at a combined development cost of nearly $90 million.

Queen Creek Crossing on Queen Creek and Ellsworth roads is a 31-acre property featuring 300,000 square feet of retail. Costco is anchoring the site. Coming soon are Ashley Furniture, Hobby Lobby, Portillo’s and BJ’s Brewery.

Vestar is also developing Verrado Marketplace in Buckeye and Laveen Towne Center in Laveen.
