The Queen Creek Town Council has forwarded a recommendation of approval to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control for a new barbecue restaurant.
Queen Creek BBQ Co., located at 21824 S Ellsworth Road, is a small family-owned eatery serving Southern-style barbecue and wood-fired pizza.
The business began as a food truck and catering service and became successful enough to allow the family to open its first brick-and-mortar restaurant. Queen Creek BBQ Co. opened its doors on March 7.
The council approved forwarding the recommendation at its Wednesday meeting.
The application for a Series 012 Restaurant Liquor License was submitted by Robert Lee Everson on behalf of Queen Creek BBQ Co.
A Series 012 is a non-transferable, on-sale retail privileges liquor license that allows the holder of a restaurant license to sell and serve all types of liquor for consumption at an establishment that generates at least 40% of its gross revenue from the sale of food.
