A new wave of tenants is coming to The Switchyard, the $120 million mixed-use development currently being constructed in downtown.
The Switchyard, which encompasses 10 acres on the northeast corner of Ellsworth Loop and East Ocotillo roads, will have 54,000 square feet of restaurant, retail and office space, plus a 215-residence luxury apartment community.
The project’s residential portion is in the design phase. Construction on the retail and office phase began in July. At completion, there will be seven buildings on the site — four single-story buildings with office, retail and restaurant space and three four-story buildings that will house the 215 apartment units along with more office space.
Newly signed tenants Bamboo Sushi, ROOM and PORCH, Zara Nail Bar and Edward Jones will occupy space within the same building, according to a press release from developer Creation.
Founded in Portland, Oregon, Bamboo Sushi will make its Arizona market debut at The Switchyard. The 3,198-square-foot Queen Creek location will feature signature rolls, happy hour specials, shareable plates and a beverage program rooted in the brand’s mission of sustainability, transparency and hospitality.
“We’re excited to join The Switchyard and become part of the Queen Creek community,” stated Ava Brenneke, marketing director for Bamboo Sushi, in the release. “The opening reflects Bamboo Sushi’s continued expansion into vibrant, community-focused destinations that value quality, sustainability and connection.”
ROOM and PORCH, a 1,761-square-foot home goods and lifestyle store, will introduce furnishings and décor to the project. Zara Nail Bar will occupy 3,519 square feet, offering a full-service nail salon experience. Financial services firm Edward Jones will also open an office at The Switchyard.
The latest additions joined previously announced restaurant tenants Snooze, an A.M. Eatery, Shake Shack and Postino, all of which are expected to open by the end of the year.
“The caliber of tenants joining The Switchyard reflects the demand we’re seeing for a concentrated dining and retail environment in Queen Creek,” stated David Sellers, co-founder of Creation, in the release. “As the buildings rise, the leasing activity behind them confirms that this district is resonating with both national brands and local concepts looking to be part of the town’s growth.”
The Switchyard will feature walkable pathways, outdoor gathering areas and a cohesive architectural styled intended to anchor Queen Creek’s Town Center.
