The Mesa Public Schools Governing Board approved a contract increase for architect and engineering services at their recent meeting.
The increase passed by a 5-0 vote at the board’s Dec. 11 meeting.
The $500,000 contract increase will increase a $1.2 million multi-vendor contract to $1.7 million, according to board documents.
The contract was originally approved on March 25, 2025.
“This contract increase is necessary to support architectural and engineering services associated with the significant rise in recently awarded Building Renewal Grant projects from the School Facilities Division, which were not anticipated in the original contract scope,” board documents stated. “Additional funding is required to ensure adequate coverage for construction administration and quality assurance/quality control services tied to these new approvals.”
