A man was arrested in Queen Creek following a disturbance at a home with reports of possible shots fired.
At 7 a.m. on Wednesday, the Queen Creek Police Department responded to a home in the 20900 block of East Mockingbird Drive following a burglary alarm activation.
Around the same time, police dispatch received reports of a disturbance involving an armed subject and later received reports of possible shots fired, according to a QCPD statement.
“Officers arrived on scene where the subject refused to exit the residence. Officers treated the situation as a barricaded subject and made announcements into the residence. Less-lethal tools were also deployed in an attempt to get the subject to exit the residence,” according to the statement.
The male suspect was taken into custody just before 8 a.m. without further incident and booked into the Maricopa County Jail on charges that included aggravated assault and criminal damage, the statement continues.
“The investigation revealed there were no shots fired, but the suspect did use a replica-type weapon during the incident,” according to the police statement.
QCPD later reported that “those involved knew each other. This was not a random incident.”
