Posted

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced where it plans to build a temple in Queen Creek.

The temple, announced in April 2024, will be at the southeast corner of Ryan Road and Euell Drive, between Meridian Road to the west and Ironwood Road to the east.

This 82,000-square-foot temple will be built on a 15.5-acre site and will include a meeting house and an accompanying ancillary building, according to a release by the church.

“The announcement of the Queen Creek Arizona Temple location is a historic and deeply meaningful moment for our community, honoring our pioneer heritage and the values of faith, family and service that has long been Queen Creek’s foundation,” Queen Creek Mayor Julia Wheatley stated in the release. “This sacred place of worship will be a beautiful addition of peace and hope to our town and will bless members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout our region for generations to come.”

Plans are also in the works for temples in Yuma and Flagstaff. There currently temples in Gilbert, Mesa, Phoenix, Snowflake, the Gila Valley and Tucson.

Arizona is home to more than 442,000 LDS members meeting in nearly 900 congregations, the release continued.

“We are extremely excited with this announced location of the temple in Queen Creek,” Jason Bagley, president of the Queen Creek Arizona North Stake, stated in the release. “It will be a focal point for individuals and families seeking the opportunity to draw closer to God and find greater peace.”
