Construction has begun on the forthcoming Hobby Lobby store in Queen Creek Crossing.
“We can confirm that construction has started, and the anticipated opening date is spring 2024,” said a spokesperson for Vestar, one of the developers of the shopping center that also includes a Costco.
The store will be on Ellsworth and Queen Creek roads near the Costco and an Ashley Furniture Store.
In a Facebook post, Queen Creek Vice Mayor Jeff Brown stated that construction of the Hobby Lobby is expected to last until February 2024.
“While there is no opening date set just yet, it will likely take another (plus or minus) four-six weeks after construction to stock store/train employees,” Brown posted.
In July 2021, the Independent reported that local developer Carson Brown and his team at The Legacy Group had been working on the Costco land development deal. The Legacy Group is also in a joint venture development with Vestar for the balance of the property.
The remaining acres will consist of regional and national retailers, such as Hobby Lobby, that will be at Queen Creek Crossing.
