Nancy Haggerty has lived through some tough times to get to a point where life is good for her. She is the founder of Nancy’s Closet, an extension of Marketplace Matters ministry, whose goal is “Equipping Christian business leaders with the necessary tools to live out their faith and develop a Kingdom purpose for their business.”
Nancy’s Closet is a resource center where community members can pool their assets to be able to give back and forth to each other to assist with employment, education and basic needs.
In 2014, Haggerty and like-minded friends started a “life group” in a Gilbert coffee shop. Soon, people from Queen Creek kept finding their way to the group. Seeing a need for the spiritual help Marketplace Matters, she moved to Queen Creek to “give it back to the church, creating both a safe haven for kids and an environment where we could equip and develop business owners and leaders to live out their faith.”
