Arrests made in Chandler home burglary, victims expected to survive: PD

Posted

Two of the three suspects who police said were involved in a weekend home burglary during which two people were injured were arrested Sunday evening, Chandler police said.

Police received a call about 6 a.m. Saturday, June 6, that a home was burglarized near Arizona Avenue and Elliot Road. The victims reported being assaulted by three people who had broken into their home.

One of the victims was shot, and both were taken to a hospital where they are expected to survive, police said Monday.

The suspects were linked to another incident that occurred a short distance away. Detectives were able to identify three suspects, one adult and two under the age of 18, involved in both crimes, according to a Chandler Police Department release.

On Sunday evening, the adult suspect and one of the juveniles were arrested while attempting to enter into Mexico, police said.

Two other men were also taken into custody “for crimes related to the incident. Efforts are ongoing to locate and arrest the remaining remaining suspect,” police stated in the release.
