Wounded Marine Corps sergeant earns disability pay after congressional help

An U.S. Marine Corps sergeant from Arizona received approval for combat-related special compensation with the help of a U.S. representative in Congress, according to a release on Monday.

Sgt. Alecsaiah Tree's claim was delayed five months past the processing times after nearly two years without an update.

Tree now is receiving a 100% combat-related disability rating, retroactive to April 1, 2024, after an assist from Rep. Yassamin Ansari and her office.'
