OPINION — Arizonans saw countless attacks on our state’s beautiful wildlife this year in Phoenix. Bills designed to weaken protections for native wildlife, decimate Mexican gray wolves and prioritize cruel management practices over scientifically backed ones were on the table this year.
As we approach Election Day on Nov. 3, it is critical that we pay attention to which lawmakers failed to stand against animal cruelty. With the release of Humane World Action Fund’s 2026 Arizona Humane Scorecard, one thing is clear — state Sen. Catherine Miranda of Legislative District 11 stands with Arizonans and their animals.
