OPINION — The United States is in dire need of rescue. That will happen if Democrats win nationwide. What exactly would that look like? Since 2025, the Executive branch has run virtually everything.
Were Democrats to win the House and Senate, our entire Legislative branch would be back. Congress would resume its oversight role. If the president wants to start a war, build himself a monument, spend taxpayer money to retrofit a plane gifted to him from a foreign government or tear down the Kennedy Center, he would need congressional approval.
If Democrats win, the country would operate on a higher plane. Decency and fair play would return, allowing Americans to rise above the wrecking ball currently in Washington. Democrats would ensure government would no longer wreck NATO, sell out Ukraine, foster revenge politics or undercut our elections.
