The U.S. Army will be conducting routine training this week in the areas of Peoria and Phoenix, Sept. 20-23.
Lt. Col. Mike Burns, director of public affairs in the U.S. Army Special Operations Command, said the plans will include close quarter combat training that will be supported by helicopters.
“This training exercise includes the use of simulated gunfire, and brief, controlled explosions used for breaching structures,” he said. “This training allows our service members to prepare for real-world contingencies and it will take place at night to offer more realism and a greater training value.”
